Savings Products

A savings account is the heart of your Heartland Federal Credit Union membership. Once you’re a member, we can help you reach your goals with a variety of other savings, checking, products, and services.

When you join a credit union, you pledge a “share” that enables you to participate in the member-owned cooperative and ensures you a vote in the democratic process. A $5 deposit in our Regular Savings Account establishes your membership with Heartland Federal Credit Union.

* For Emergency Savings accounts, withdrawals are allowed for emergencies only. Excessive withdrawals may require the account to be closed, at the credit union’s discretion. You must request a withdrawal from the Emergency Savings from a Credit Union employee so the reason may be documented.

* There is a 10% penalty on any withdrawal not education related. In order to avoid this penalty, provide a cancelled check made payable to the school or an invoice related to school expenses. In January of the year the member turns 18, funds are transferred to their regular savings account and this account is closed.
** Accounts balances that fall below $2,500 will incur a monthly fee.
