What is a Credit Union
A credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members. Its purpose is to provide quality savings, borrowing, and financial services with rates and fees more favorable than from other financial sources.
Membership to Heartland Federal Credit Union is available, and open to all residents, church attendees, employees, and students of Clark, Greene, Miami, and Montgomery counties within the state of Ohio. Heartland FCU operates under the guidance of a volunteer Board of Directors who are selected from, and by, the membership. Election of Board Members is held annually with each Heartland FCU member present permitted to cast one vote for their candidates.

Membership and The Patriot Act
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering actives, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We will also ask to see your driver?s license and social security card or other identifying documents.
Credit Union membership is a lifetime benefit. You may continue your membership despite changing employers, marital status, or place of residence.
